Pie Chart in Adobe Illustrator
Adobe Illustrator is not restricted to drawing shapes or artwork. You can even create different kinds of graphs and pie-chart in Adobe Illustrator.
These graphs and pie-charts are useful while creating a brochure or business report for a company.
Let’s begin with the tutorial of creating a Pie-Chart in Adobe Illustrator.
Making a Pie Chart in a Circle is easy, to create a pie chart, we need to follow step by step :
We will start by launching Adobe Illustrator. Now create a new document and right-click on Column Graph Tool in the Tool Panel. Select Pie Graph Tool from the list.
Now click on the artboard and drag the cursor to create the Pie-Chart.
When you will release the cursor, a circle will be created on the artboard and there will be a box in which the graph data will be entered.
Enter values in the columns and click on the Apply icon.
After clicking on Applyicon the circle will be transformed into a Pie-Chart.

Now we will fill color in our Pie-Chart.
If you want you can change the color of the pie chart and enter the percentage values also, to distinguish each part of the Pie-Chart.
You can change the color of the Pie-Chart in two ways, either with the help of the Recolor Artwork option or with the help of the Direct Selection Tool and Gradient Tool.
Filling Color with the help of Recolor Artwork
To change the color of the Pie-Chart, select the Pie-Chart and click on the Recolorbutton.
You will see the Recolor button under Quick Actions in the Properties Panel. You can even select the Recolor Artwork by clicking on Edit in the Menu Bar and then placing the cursor on Edit Color.
Edit > Edit Color > Recolor Artwork
When you will click on the Recolorbutton, a Recolor Artwork box will appear. In that box, you can change the color of the Pie-Chart.
When you are done with the colors of the Pie-Chart, Click OK.
To add percentage in Pie-Chart, select the Type Tool and type the values and place them near the different sections of Pie-Chart.
Filling Color with the help of the Direct Selection Tool and Gradient Tool
This is the second method of filling color in the Pie-Chart.
Select the Direct Selection Tool from the Tool Panel and click on one section of the Pie-Chart to select it.
Now fill that selected part with black and white gradient. Then double click on the Gradient Tool in the Tool Panel to open the Gradient Panel.
Now double click on the left Gradient Slider to change its color. Fill the selected gradient slider with color #8e4130.
Now double click on the Right Gradient Slider and change its color to #7a1e15.
With the help of the Direct Selection Tool, select another part of the Pie-Chart and fill it with a gradient. Now to change the color of the gradient, double click on the Gradient Tool and change the color of the Gradient Slider.
In the same way, fill other sections also with the gradients.
In this step, we will apply the Drop Shadow Effect to the Pie-Chart. Select the Pie-Chart and click on Effect in the Menu Bar. Then place the cursor on Stylize and select Drop Shadow.
A dialogue box will appear on the artboard. In that dialogue box, you can select the color of the shadow and also the blend mode of the color. After making the required changes, check the Preview and click OK.
Select the Type Tool and change the Fill color to white. then type the percentage values and place the text over the Pie-Chart.
