3D Glowing Text in Adobe Illustrator
In today’s tutorial, you will earn to create 3D Glowing Text in Adobe Illustrator. Tools which will be used are Type Tool and 3D Extrude & Bevel Effect.
Let’s begin with the tutorial by launching Adobe Illustratorand creating a new document.
Select the Type Tool from the Tool Paneland type your text on the artboard.
Select the text with the help of Selection Tooland press Ctrl + C to copy the text. Now press Ctrl + Bto paste the copied text at back.
In the Layer Panel, you will see two sub-layers of the text. Select the bottom layer of the text and hide the top layer by clicking on the eye icon.
Change the fill color to #900000.
Now click on Effect in the Menu Barand place the cursor on 3D. Select Extrude & Bevel.
3D Extrude & Bevel Optionsdialogue box will appear on the artboard. In that dialogue box, put checkmark on Preview and then manually adjust the position of the cube.
Also reduce the Extrude Depth to 22 pt and select No Shading in the Surface option.
After making required changes, click OK.
Now we will apply Outer Glow Effect to our text. Let the text be selected and click on Effect in the Menu Bar. Place the cursor on Stylize and select Outer Glow.
In the Outer Glow dialogue box, change the color of glow to #900000 and increase the Blur from 5 pt to 10 pt.
Check the Preview and click OK.
Now go to the Layer Panel and unhide the top layer of the text.
Select the top layer of the text and apply the 3D Extrude & Bevel effect to it as we had applied on the bottom layer.
For the top layer of the text, the Extrude Depthwill be 5 pt.
Now change the color of the top layer text to whiteand drag the layer towards upward so that the edges of both the text are at same position. This will create the 3D look.
Now select the Rectangle Tool to create the black color background. Place this background layer at the back and you can also apply an effect to it.
