In today’s Illustrator tutorial, you will learn to create an Interlaced Geometric Pattern in Adobe Illustrator. We will use the Polygon Tool to create the Interlaced Geometric Pattern.
Start by launching Adobe Illustrator. Now create a new document and select the Polygon Tool.
Now draw a hexagon on the artboard.
Select the shape drawn and click on Object in the Menu Bar. Place the cursor on Path and select the Offset Path.
Now create an Offset Path of -20 pt and then click OK.
Select both the hexagon shapes and click on Minus Front in the Pathfinder Panel.
Now we will make two duplicate copies of the shape with the help of Alt Key. Place both the shapes in the manner as shown in the below image.
With the help of the Selection Tool select both the duplicate shapes and click on Object in the Menu Bar. Now place the cursor on Transform and select Rotate.
A Rotate Options dialogue box will appear on the artboard. In that dialogue box, set the angle to 30o and then click on Copy.
Let the shapes be selected and then press Ctrl + D s many times as you want to repeat the rotation. At last, you will get the design as shown in the below image.
This is how you can create an Interlaced Geometric Pattern in Adobe Illustrator.
If you want you can remove a few paths with the help of the Shape Builder Tool and create a new Interlaced Geometric Pattern.
