Silhouette Cheetah in Adobe Illustrator

In the previous tutorial, I taught you to create a Silhouette using the Image Trace option and in today’s tutorial, I will show you how you can create a Silhouette Cheetah using the Pen Tool.

Creating a Silhouette Cheetah using a Pen Tool is one of the various ways of creating a Silhouette in Adobe Illustrator. You can easily create a Silhouette with the help of Pen Tool by tracing the image and using a few more tools of Adobe Illustrator.

Let’s take a detailed look at how a Silhouette Cheetah is created using a Pen Tool.

 

It’s easy to draw just follow the below steps and the same method we can use to design the silhouette of a person.

 
Step 1

Start with choosing a good quality image for your Silhouette. Then open the Adobe Illustrator and create a new document. Select File in the Menu Bar and then click on Place to add the image into the document.

I have chosen an image of a cheetah for my silhouette. (See in the below image)

 

Step 2
 

Now select the Pen Tool from the Tool Panel and start tracing the image by creating an outline on the part of the image of which you want to create a Silhouette. As I want to create a silhouette of cheetah so I will draw outlines on the image of a cheetah. If you are not familiar with the use of Pen Tool or you are scared of it then here is the solution. You can see in the below image that I have created an outline for the silhouette.

Step 3

After creating the outlines, select them and drag the outline away from the image. If you want you can now delete the image.

Now fill color to the outline either Black or Brown. You can choose any dark color and after filling the color your Silhouette is ready.

In just 3 simple steps you can create a Silhouette with the help of Pen Tool. And, Using a similar way you can design the silhouette of a person.
