Abstract Background in Adobe Illustrator
Today you will learn to create an Abstract Background in Adobe Illustrator. You can use this background in your artwork or as wallpaper for your desktop.
Step 1
Launch Adobe Illustrator and create a new document. Now select the Rectangle Tool and draw a rectangle the same size of that the artboard. Fill the rectangle with a gradient with the help of the Gradient Tool.
Step 2
Now select the Pencil Tool and select a stroke color. (Fill color is disabled)
If you are not friendly with the Pencil Tool, then you can use the Pen Tool.
Now draw a curved line on the artboard. (See the below image)
Step 3
Select all the lines and Group them by pressing Ctrl + G. Now, create a duplicate copy of the lines with the help of the Alt key and put it aside.
Now select the lines which are on the artboard and the strokes with the gradient.
Double click on the Gradient Tool to open the Gradient Panel.
Now select the stroke lines filled with the gradient, and with the help of the Alt key, make few duplicate copies of it as shown in the below image.
Step 4
Select all the gradient, filled strokes, and with the help of the Selection Tool, reduce the width of the selection. Also, change the Opacity from Normal to Screen.
Step 5
Now select the gradient lines which are on the artboard and click on Object in the Menu Bar. Place the cursor on Envelope Distort and select Make with Mesh.
Step 6
Now select another duplicate copy that we had put aside and placed it over the shapes created with the help of Mesh.
