Wrap Text around Sphere in Adobe Illustrator
In today’s adobe tutorial, you will learn to Wrap Text around Sphere in Adobe Illustrator. The process is somewhat similar to other 3D effects that you have learned to create in Adobe Illustrator with the help of previous tutorials.
Let’s launch Adobe Illustrator and begin with the illustrator tutorial.
Step 1
Create a new document and select the Type Tool. Click on the artboard to activate the type box and now type the text which you want to wrap around the sphere.
To make your text attractive you may change its font size and font type. Arrange the text as shown in the image below.
Step 2
Now press Ctrl + A to select all the text. After selecting all the text Group those by hitting the Group Button in the Properties Panel.
Now we will save this group of text as a Symbol. Open the Symbol Panel by clicking on Window in the Menu Bar. Select Symbol and the Symbol Panel will appear on the artboard.
Now select the group of text and drag it to the Symbol Panel to add it as a symbol.
Click OK and the group of text will get added as a symbol.
Step 3
Now place the group of text aside and select the Ellipse Tool. Draw a circle on the artboard with the help of the Ellipse Tool.
Now select the Scissor Tool and click on the anchor points to cut the circle into half.
Now select the Pen Tool and draw a straight line from one anchor point to another. The shape formed will be a semi-circle.
Step 4
Now select the semi-circle and click on Effect in the Menu Bar. Place the cursor on 3D and select Revolveto form the Sphere.
When you will click on Revolve, the 3D Revolve option dialogue box will appear on the artboard.
Put a checkmark on Preview.
Step 5
Now click on Map Art in the dialogue box.
In the Map Art dialogue box, you will see a graph. In that graph, we will place the grouped text symbol on this graph also put a checkmark on Invisible Geometry.
Click OK in the Map Art dialogue box and then click OK in the 3D Revolve Option dialogue box.
