We will use the Ellipse Tool, Blend Tool, and Transform Effect while creating Dotted Spiral Vortex in Illustrator.

Follow the below-mentioned steps-

Step 1

Launch Adobe Illustrator and create a document of size 700 pt X 700 pt.

Step 2

Now select the Ellipse Tool from the Tool Panel and draw a circle of size 20 pt. Then draw another circle of size 5 pt.

Step 3

Select both the circles and press Alt + Ctrl + B to make a Blend.

Select the Blend of circles and double-click on the Blend Tool in the Tool Panel. Blend Options dialogue will appear on the artboard. In that dialogue box, set the Specified Steps of the Blend. Click OK.

Step 4

Again select the Ellipse Tool and draw a big circle this time.

Now we want an arc shape from this circle, so we will delete the unwanted anchor points. For this, select the Direct Selection Tool and select the anchor points shown in the below image.

Hit backspace to remove the selected anchor points.

Step 5

With the help of the Selection Tool, select the arc shape and the blend. Go to Object > Blend > Replace Spine.

Step 6

With the help of the Selection Tool, make a selection of the dots placed in the arc shape. Press and hold the Alt key and drag the path to create a duplicate copy of it.

Now rotate and place the duplicate copy as shown in the below image.

Press Ctrl + A to select all the layers (both the dotted arc shape) and then press Ctrl + G to Group them.

Step 7

Select the group and go to Effect > Distort & Transform > Transform. The Transform Effect dialogue will appear. In that dialogue box, put a checkmark on Preview and then set the Horizontal and Vertical Scale. The values of the Horizontal and Vertical Scales will be the same. Also, set the Angle. Then set the number of copies and click OK.
