3D Blend Text Effect in Adobe Illustrator
Today’s tutorial is a typography tutorial. In today’s tutorial, you will learn to create a 3D Blend Text Effect in Adobe Illustrator. We will be using Rectangle Tool, Type Tool, Blend Tool, and 3D Rotate Effect.
Launch Adobe Illustrator and create a new document. Now follow the below steps-
Step 1
Select the Rectangle Tool from the Tool Panel and draw a rectangle to create the background. Fill the rectangle with color #fbb040.
Select the background rectangle and press Ctrl + 2 to lock the background.
Step 2
Select the Type Tool and type a letter.
Step 3
Select the letter and press Ctrl + C to copy the letter. Now press Ctrl + F to paste the copied letter in the front.
Now select the letter pasted in front and drag towards the right. (See the below image)
Step 4
Now select the letter which is at the back and change its fill color. Fill the letter with the background color, i.e., #fbb040.
Then select the letter which is in the front and fill it with color #8f1622.
Now select both the letters and click on Object in the Menu Bar. Place the cursor on Blend and select Make.
(The second letter which is at the back is not visible in the above image because its fill color is the same as that of the background.)
Now double click on the Blend Tool in the Tool Panel to open the Blend Option dialogue box.
In the Blend Option dialogue box, we will increase the Specified Steps to make a smooth blend.
Check the Preview and click OK.
Step 5
Now select the blend created and click on Effect in the Menu Bar. Place the cursor on 3D and click on Rotate.
3D Rotate Options dialogue box will appear on the artboard. In that dialogue box, create a custom rotation to give a perspective look to the letter.
Check the Preview and click OK.
