Badge Logo Design in Adobe Illustrator
Today, we will design a Badge Logo in Adobe Illustrator. We will make a Line Art Badge Logo for a farm in today’s’ illustrator tutorial. Line art is popular for creating a minimalist design.
In this logo design process, we will use the Rectangle Tool, Shape Builder Tool, Ellipse Tool, Pen Tool, and other illustrators tools.
Let’s begin with this step by step logo design process.
Firstly, launch Adobe Illustrator and create a new document. Now follow the below steps:
Select the Rectangle Tool and draw a vertical rectangle on the artboard. Then turn off the fill color for the rectangle.
With the help of the Direct Selection Tool convert the corners of the rectangle into rounded curves.
Next, select the shape and click on Object in the Menu Bar. Place the cursor on Path and select the Offset Path. Then create an offset of 15 pt.
Now select the offset path created and increase its Stroke Weight.
In this step, we will draw the shape of the field so select the Ellipse Tool and draw a circle on the artboard.
Select the circle drawn and press Ctrl + C to copy the circle and then press Ctrl + F to paste it in the front. Now select the circle pasted in the front and scale it down while pressing the Shift and the Alt key.
Select both the circles and press Alt + Ctrl + B to Make Blend. Then double click on the Blend Tool in the Tool Panel to open the Blend Options dialogue box and increase the Specified Steps.
Then, we will expand the blend. Select the blend and click on Object in the Menu Bar then click on Expand.
Select the group of circles and place them as shown in the below image.
Press Ctrl + A to select all the shapes and then select the Shape Builder Tool from the Tool Panel. Now with the help of the Shape Builder Tool, remove the unwanted paths.
With the help of the Selection Tool, select the lines which we have created for the fields and open the Stroke Panel (Ctrl + F10). In the Strokes Panel, change the Profile of the lines from Uniformto Width Profile 5.
Create another group of circles, in the same way, as created in the above steps, and place it over the rectangle shape as shown in the below image.
Now select all the shapes and click on the Shape Builder Tool in the Tool Panel. With the help of the Shape Builder Tool and Alt key, remove the unwanted paths.
After creating the remaining field lines, change the stroke profile of the lines to Width Profile 5.
Again select the Ellipse Tool and draw two circles on the artboard. Place both the circles as shown in the below image.
Select both the circles and press Shift + M (Shape Builder Tool). Now press and hold the Alt Key and remove the non-intersecting area of the circles.
Now select the shape created and press Shift + X to swap fill and stroke.
Now create a few more duplicate copies and arrange them as shown in the below image.
Select the rounded rectangle shape drawn in Step 1 and create an Offset Path in negative values.
Next, select the Pen Tool and draw two lines on the shape as shown in the below image.
Now with the help of the Shape Builder Tool remove the paths that are between the two lines drawn in the above step.
Now we will add some text to our Line Art Badge Logo.
Select Vertical Type on a Path Tool from the Tool Panel and click on the upper half of the offset path created in Step 9.
Now double-click on the Vertical Type on a Path Tool and an options dialogue box will appear on the artboard. In that dialogue box, select Ascender Align to Path and click OK.
Then type your text on the path selected.
Now select the Type Tool from the Tool Panel and add the remaining text to your Badge Logo.
This is how you can design a Badge Logo in Adobe Illustrator.
Now to make your Badge Logo visually more attractive, you can place an image in the background and reduce its opacity and change the color of your Line Art Badge Logo.
I hope you will love this way of designing a Line Art Badge Logo.
