Spiro Graph Effect in Adobe Illustrator
Today we will create Spiro Graph Effect in Adobe Illustrator. Spiro Graph is a geometric drawing device and with the help of this device mathematical roulette curves are produced. We will create this effect with the help of the Star Tool, Direct Selection Tool, and Transform Effect.
Launch Adobe Illustrator and create a new document. Now follow the below steps:
Step 1
Select the Star Tool from the Tool Panel and click on the artboard. A dialogue box will appear on the artboard. In that dialogue box set the sides of the star to 4 and then click OK.
Step 2
Now press and hold the Shift key and drag the corner of the shape to increase the size.
After increasing the size of the shape, we will rotate it with the help of the Selection Tool.
Step 3
Make sure that the shape is selected and then turn off the Fill color of the shape and choose a gradient as a Stroke color.
Step 4
Now select the Direct Selection Tool and convert the corner edges into a round curve. Select an anchor point and drag it towards the center to make the edges curved.
Now press and hold the Shift key and select the four inner anchor points. Then drag the anchor points away from the center. (See the below image)
After making all the changes you will get the shape as shown in the below image.
Step 5
Again select the Selection Tool and click on Object in the Menu Bar. Place the cursor on Transform and select Rotate.
Now rotate the shape to a 5o degree angle and click on Copy.
Now press Ctrl + D to repeat the rotation.
This is how you can create a Spiro Graph Effect in Adobe Illustrator.
