Today, we will create a 5G Glossy 3D Logo in Adobe Illustrator with the help of 3D Extrude & Bevel Effect, Ellipse Tool, and few other illustrator tools & effects. We will also make a glossy art brush for our 3D Logo.
We will begin with this illustrator tutorial by launching Adobe Illustrator and creating a new document in RGB color mode.
Now follow the below-mentioned logo design process:
Step 1
Firstly, design a flat 5G Logo as shown in the below image to learn to convert a flat logo into a 3D logo.
Step 2
Select the logo design and click on Effect in the Menu Bar. Now place the cursor on 3Dand select Extrude & Bevel.
Step 3
When you will click on Extrude & Bevel, 3D Extrude & Bevel Options dialogue box will appear on the artboard.
By default, the position will be set to Off-Axis Front. You need not make any changes to the settings. Check the Preview and click OK.
Step 4
Now select the logo design and click on Object in the Menu Bar and then select Expand Appearance.
Again click on Object in the Menu Bar and select Ungroup. You have to ungroup the selection until the Ungroup option gets disabled.
I have ungrouped the selection 3 times.
Step 5
Now with the help of the Selection Tool, select the extruded path and click on Unite in the Pathfinder Panel (Shift + Ctrl + F9) to form a single path.
Similarly, unite remaining extruded paths also.
Step 6
Now select all the paths and press Ctrl + G to group them.
After grouping the paths, select them and click on Effect in the Menu Bar. Place the cursor on Stylize and select Drop Shadow.
In the Drop Shadow Effect dialogue box, change the attributes, and click OK.
Step 7
Now select the Ellipse Tool and draw a circle filled with color #ffffff. Then reduce the Opacity of the circle and place the part of the circle over the logo design.
Step 8
Press Ctrl + A to select all the paths and then click on the Shape Builder Tool in the Tool Panel.
Press and hold the Alt key and remove the area of the circle which is not covering the logo.
Step 9
Now we will create a Glossy Art Brush.
Select the Ellipse Tool and draw a thin horizontal shape on the artboard. Fill the shape with the grey color and then draw another similar shape, filled with black color, inside the grey color shape, and reduce its size.
Then select both the shape and press Alt + Ctrl + Bto Make a Blend. (See the image below)
Now open the Brushes Panel (F5) and select and drag the blend into the Brushes Panel to save it as a Custom Art Brush.
In the Art Brush Options dialogue box, set the Colorization Method as Tint and Click OK.
Step 10
Select the Pen Tool and draw stroke lines at the edges of the 5G logo and fill the Stroke color with #ffffff.
After drawing the stroke lines, select all the lines, and then click on the Glossy Art Brush in the Brushes Panel to apply it to the stroke lines.
