In today’s tutorial, you will learn to create Medal Icon in Adobe Illustrator. We will make Gold, Silver, and Bronze Medal Icons in today’s tutorial.

Let’s begin with the tutorial. Launch Adobe Illustrator and create a new document.
Step 1
Select the Rectangle Tool from the Tool Panel and create a background. Fill the background with white color.

Now select the Ellipse Tool from the Tool Panel and draw 3 circles of size 150 X150 pt.
Colors filled in the circles are –
1stCircle: Fill – #fbb040 & Stroke – #3c2415 Stroke Size- 4pt
2ndCircle: Fill – # 939598 & Stroke – # 414042 Stroke Size- 4pt
3rdCircle: Fill – # 8b5e3c & Stroke – # 3c2415 Stroke Size- 4pt

Step 2
Select all the 3 circles and click on Object in the Menu Bar. Place the cursor on Path and click on Offset Path.

In the Offset Path dialogue box, set the Offset to -7pt. check the Preview and then click OK.

Now select the inner circles created by Offset Path and reduce the Stroke size from 4pt to 2pt.
Also change the color of the strokes-
1stinner circle: Stroke – # fbd640
2ndinner circle: Stroke – # d1d3d4
3rdinner circle: Stroke – # a97c50

Step 3
Select the Star Tool and draw a Star of size 163.556 X 155.551 pt. Fill the Star shape will color code #fbb040 & Stroke – #3c2415. The size of the stroke is 2 pt. Place the Star above the 1st circle.
 
Now draw a Triangle, with the help of Polygon Tool, of size 163.717 X 125.363 pt. The color filled in Triangle is # 939598 & Stroke – # 414042. Stroke size is 2pt. Select the Triangle and place it above the 2ndcircle.

Now select the Star shape and press and hold the Shift key to select the Triangle shape and the Inner circle of the 3rdcircle.
Open the Offset Path dialogue box and set the Offset to -5 pt. Check the Preview and click OK.

Step 4
Select the Inner Star Shape and the Inner Circle of the Gold Medal and fill them with the Gradient. Double click on the Gradient Tool to open the Gradient Panel. Fill the Gradient Slider with the color codes # fbb040, #f9ed32 and #fbb040. Set the Angle of the Gradient to -30o.
The Stroke color is #fbd640.

Now select the Inner Triangle shape and the Inner Circle of the Silver Medal. Fill them with the Gradient. In the Gradient Panel, fill the Gradient Slider with the color codes #e6e7e8, #bcbec0 and #6d6e71. The Stroke color is # d1d3d4. Set the Angle of the Gradient to -30o.

Step 5
Select the Innermost Circle of the Bronze Medal. Open the Gradient Panel and fill the Gradient Slider with the color codes # c49a6c, # a97c50, and # 754c29. The Stroke color will be #754c29.
Set the Angle of the Gradient to -30o.

Now select the Pen Tool and draw the shapes as shown in the below image and fill them with the color code # c49a6c.

Step 6
The circles have been transformed into Gold, Silver, and Bronze Medal but we will add some more to them. Select the Pen Tool and draw the Ribbon shape as shown in the below image.

Now select the Type Tool and type 1st, 2nd, and 3rd. Place the text at the center of all the three Medal Icons.
