Remove Acne/ Skin Blemishes using Spot Healing Brush Tool
We all have temporary blemishes, scars, acne, or pimples on our skin. They disappear after few days but get captured in our photographs. In this tutorial, you will learn to remove acne/skin blemishes in Photoshop.
It is not necessary to remove spots or blemishes from every portrait image. But clear-looking skin looks nice in photographs.
Using a single Photoshop Tool, you can retouch or refine the photo. The tool that will be used is the Spot Healing Brush Tool.
The Spot Healing Brush Tool is the best tool to use when you want to remove any spot, mole, acne, or blemishes from the skin. This tool works like a magic brush. It samples the texture surrounding the blemishes and then blends it with the skin’s color and tone, where you click on to heal the area.
Now, let’s see in the below-mentioned steps the use of the Spot Healing Brush Tool to Remove Skin Blemishes.
Step 1
Open the portrait in Photoshop in which you want to remove skin blemishes.
Step 2
Select the Spot Healing Brush Tool from the Tool Panel. Then adjust the size of the brush in the Options Bar. Initially, I have kept the brush size small to remove the tiny spots/skin blemishes.
Step 3
In the Options Bar, select the Painting Mode as Lighten. Then select Type as Content-Aware and put a check-mark on Sample All Layers.
Step 4
After setting up the Spot Healing Brush Tool, we will start removing the skin blemishes. Place the brush cursor on the skin blemish/acne and right-click to heal it up.
Similarly, you can remove other small skin blemishes also.
Step 5
Now to remove the pimple from the portrait, I will adjust the brush size. Then place the Spot Healing Brush Tool cursor on the pimple area and right-click to remove it.
