Wrap Text using Make with Top Object in Adobe Illustrator
Step 1
After clicking on Extrude & Bevel, a dialogue box will appear on the artboard. In that dialogue box, put a checkmark on Preview and then change the angles of the shape.
Set the X-axis angle to -300 and the increase the Extrude Depth. Also, increase the value of Perspective. (See the image below)
Step 2
Select the perspective shape and click on Object in the Menu Bar. Then select Expand Appearance and increase the size of the shape with the help of the Selection Tool and Shift key.
Step 3
Now we will break the shape into different parts. Select the Pen Tool and draw straight lines over the shape as shown in the below image. These lines will help in creating the gap between the shapes and make sure to change the color of the lines so that they are easily visible.
Now with the help of the Selection Tool, select those shapes which were created with the help of the Pen Tool and remove them.
Step 4
An alternative way is to select all the shapes and Press Shift + Ctrl + ] to bring the selected layers on the top.
Step 5
After arranging the layers, select a shape and the text (press and hold the Shift key for multiple selections) and click on Object in the Menu Bar. Place the cursor on Envelope Distort and select Make with Top Object.
