Gradient Text in Adobe Illustrator
You would have tried to fill your text with Gradient swatch and would have ended with no change in the text color. Filling text with the Gradient swatch is not the same as filling the text with any color swatch. There is a trick in Adobe Illustrator to fill the text with Gradient swatch.

Follow the below step-by-step tutorial to make Gradient Text in Illustrator–
Step 1
Launch Adobe Illustrator and create a new document. Select the Type Tool from the Tool Panel. Now click on the artboard to activate the type cursor and type the text.
Now we will select the text with the help of the Selection Tool and will make it an editable text. Click on the Create Outlines Button in the Properties Panel and then Ungroup the text. Create Outlines Button helps in converting the text into paths.
Step 2
Select all the letters and open the Appearance Panel. Click on Window in the Menu Bar and select Appearance. When you will click on Appearance, Appearance Panel will appear on the artboard.
In the Appearance Panel, select Add New Fill icon present at the bottom-left.
A New Fill layer will be added in the Appearance Panel. Now in that layer, change the fill to the Gradient Fill and you will see that the text is filled with the selected Gradient.
This is the trick to Fill Text with Gradient in Adobe Illustrator. You can change the color of the Gradient Text with the help of the Gradient Tool.
