Decorative Christmas Balls in Adobe Illustrator
In today’s tutorial, you will learn to create Decorative Christmas Balls in Adobe Illustrator. We will be using Brush Tool, Symbol Panel, Ellipse Tool, and 3D Revolve to create Christmas Balls.
Launch Adobe Illustrator and create a new document of size 841.89 pt X 595.28 pt with RGB color mode.
Now follow the below steps:
Open the Brushes Panel and click on Brush Libraries Menu. Now select various types of brushes to draw some designs for our Christmas Ball. We will use Brush Tool to draw the designs. The stroke color will be #fbb040.
Now open the Symbol Panel. Select the design which you have drawn with the help of Brush Tool and drag it in the Symbol Panel to save it as a symbol.
When you will drag the design into the Symbol Panel a dialogue box will appear. In that dialogue box, you can give a name to your symbol and then click OK to save the symbol.
After saving the design as a symbol, drag your design to keep it aside.
Now select the Ellipse Tool and change the stroke color to #8f1622. Then draw a circle of size 165 pt X 165 pt.
Now we will convert this circle into a half-circle.
Select the Direct Selection Tool and click on the left anchor point of the circle. Then press backspace and the circle will get converted into a half-circle.
Now select the half circle and click on Effect in the Menu Bar. Place the cursor on 3D and select Revolve.
After selecting Revolve, the 3D Revolve Options dialogue box will appear on the artboard. Put a checkmark on Preview and then click on Map Art.
In the Map Art dialogue box, select the new symbol; which we had saved earlier; by clicking on the drop-down button in the Symbol and the click on the Scale to Fit button.
With the help of the Rectangle Tool and Ellipse Tool, we will draw the hanging hook for the Christmas Ball.
This is how you can create Decorative Christmas Balls in Adobe Illustrator.
