Wrap Text in Photoshop

In this tutorial, you will learn an easy way to Wrap Text Around an Image in Photoshop. You can Wrap the Text around any Object or Subject, the same as the text we see in a magazine. This Photoshop tutorial is helpful while designing a magazine page.

We will use the Quick Selection Tool, Rectangular Marquee Tool, and Type Tool to Wrap Text Around an Image in Photoshop.

Launch Adobe Photoshop and follow the below-mentioned steps-

Step 1

Open the image in Photoshop in which you want to Wrap the Text.

Select the Quick Selection Tool and then select the subject of the image. The subject in my image is the watch. So, with the help of the Quick Selection Tool, I will select the watch.

Make a selection

Now we will Expand the selection to create a gap between the subject and the text. Go to Select > Modify > Expand.

In the Expand Selection dialogue box, expand the selection by setting up the values in pixels. (see the image below)

Press Shift + Ctrl + I to Inverse the Selection.

Now select the Rectangular Marquee Tool from the Tool Panel. Then click on the Intersect with Selection sub-tool in the Options Bar. This will help in making a desired rectangular selection from the whole selection.

With the help of the Rectangular Marquee Tool, select the part of the selection in which you want to place your text.

After making a rectangular selection for the text, we will convert this selection into Work Path. Right-click inside the selection box and select Make Work Path.

Now select the Type Tool from the Tool Panel. After selecting the Type Tool, set the Font Style and Font Size for your text. You can either type the text or paste it into the selection box.

To hide the work path lines, go to Paths Panel and delete the Work Path.
