Dot Mandala in Adobe Illustrator
In a previous tutorial you had learned to create Mandala in Adobe Illustrator and today you will learn to create Dot Mandala in Adobe Illustrator.
The process of making Dot Mandala is similar to the process of making a mandala drawing but the difference is in the shape. In the Mandala tutorial, we were using lines and in the Dot Mandala tutorial, we will use circles to create shapes.
Launch Adobe Illustrator and create a document of size 841.89 pt X 595.28 pt with RGB color mode.
Step 1
Select the Rectangle Tool and create a background.
Press Ctrl + 2 to lock the background. Now select the Ellipse Tool and draw a circle at the center of the background. The size of the circle is 35 X 35 pt.
Step 2
The center point of the Dot Mandala has been created in the above step. Now we will draw different layers of circles. The size of circles will be in ascending to descending order.
Again select the Ellipse Tool and draw a circle of size 10 X 10 pt.
Select the small circle drawn and create a duplicate copy of it and set it as shown in the below image.
Step 3
Select both the small circles and click on Object in the Menu Bar. Place the cursor on Transform and select Rotate.
In the Rotate dialogue box, set the angle at 25o and click on Copy.
Now press Ctrl + D to rotate the circles again.
Step 4
Now draw a circle of size 12 X 12 pt with the help of Ellipse Tool and create a new layer as we have created in the above step.
Now in this way keep on creating new layers by increasing the size of the circle.
Step 5
Now we will fill color in our Dot Mandala from lighter to a darker shade.
This is how you can create Dot Mandala in Adobe Illustrator.
