3D Box in Adobe Illustrator
Creating a 3D box isn’t difficult, it only takes a little effort. In today’s tutorial, you will learn to make 3D Box in Adobe Illustrator. We will draw the 3D Box with the help of Polygon Tool, Pen Tool, Shape Builder Tool, and few other tool panels. To draw a 3D box, we need to follow a few steps.
Launch Adobe Illustrator and create a new document. Now follow the below steps:
Step 1
Select the Polygon Tool and draw a polygon on the artboard.
Step 2
Now select the Pen Tool and draw diagonal lines inside the polygon.
Step 3
Press Ctrl + A to select all the shapes. Now open the Pathfinder Panel.
Window > Pathfinder
In Pathfinder Panel, click on Divide to divide the shapes into paths and then press Shift + Ctrl + G to Ungroup the selection.
Step 4
Now we will fill color in the shapes and convert the polygon into a 3D Cube.
Select the left bottom triangle and the triangle above it. Fill both the shapes with #dc9d40and turn off the strokes.
Now select the right bottom triangle and the triangle above it. Fill both the triangles with color #edb96c.
Now fill the remaining two triangles with #cf932f and #dc9d40.
Step 5
Now select the Pen Tool and draw four lines as shown in the below image.
Select all the lines and then click on the Shape Builder Tool in the Tool Panel. With the help of the Shape Builder Tool remove all the unwanted lines. Press and hold the Alt key to remove the line.
Press Ctrl + J to join the corners of the lines and then fill the shape with #edb96c.
Step 6
Select the shape drawn in the above step and click on Object in the Menu Bar. Place the cursor on Transform and select Reflect.
Reflect dialogue box will appear on the artboard. In that dialogue box, select Vertical Axis and click on Copy.
Now select the shape formed after reflection and reflect that shape on the Vertical Axis. Similarly, reflect the new shape formed and this is how we will get all the four shapes.
Step 7
Now add some detailing to the 3D Box.
