Glossy Sphere in Adobe Illustrator
You have learned to create different kinds of Spheres in Adobe Illustrator and today you will learn to create a Glossy Sphere in Adobe Illustrator.
Launch Adobe Illustrator and create a new document with RGB color mode. Now follow the below steps-
Step 1
Select the Ellipse Tool and draw a circle of size 400 X 400 pt. Fill the circle with the color #04123b.
As we are making a Glossy Sphere we will create few highlights on the circle. We will create highlights with the help of the Gradient Mesh Tool. Let’s move on to the next step to create the highlights.
Step 2
Select the circle and click on Object in the Menu Bar. Now select Create Gradient Mesh.
When you will select Create Gradient Mesh, a dialogue box will appear on the artboard. In that dialogue box, set the rows and columns of the gradient mesh and then click OK.
Step 3
Now with the help Direct Section Tool we will select the points on the mesh and will fill them with a lighter shade to create the highlights.
If required you can add more mesh points with the help of Mesh Tool.
Now we will create some light effect but before that, we will lock the mesh we have created. Select the shape and then press Ctrl + 2 to lock the selection.
Step 4
Again select the ellipse tool and draw an oval shape. Fill the shape with the black and white gradient. (See the image below)
Double click on the Gradient Tool in the Tool Panel to open the Gradient Panel. In the Gradient Panel, we will change the angle of the gradient to -90o.
Now we will change the blend of this shape from Normal to Screen.
Adjust the Opacity of the shape.
In this way, we will create more light effects to create a Glossy Sphere.
